We have more in common than not.  The hope would be that we can learn and grow from each other.  This is another fine survey that touches many points that are usually not factored into our daily awareness.  It is a good tool to sit back and ponder how we could see more beneficial areas of similarity leading to closer ties.  I think 11 and 12 (Ambition and Humility) are areas needing particular alignment and common ground.  These are areas of great strength in power and soft-power that if harnessed could lead both countries to understanding and unity.  13 and 15 (Collective and Individualistic) another important parallel in the 21st century.  In all cases, balance or a compliment of strengths and weaknesses in an organized rule will foster love among both peoples (brothers and sisters of the harmonious parents).

I'm sure President Obama has his ideas for a fulfilled American Dream but he is also faced with the American Reality.  I believe that there is also a "Global Dream" that supersedes the isolated dreams of any one country.  Out of the discussions and agreements (either in writing or verbal) and as ideas of the great leaders are exchanged, progress toward the Global Dream can begin to be identified and realized.  The term "American Dream" will be resigned to the 20th century mentality as the new focus emerges that addresses the dreams and needs of all people (let's hope).

The basic American Dream consists of owning a home, having a job, raising a family and feeling generally free and happy (that's it).  For these things to happen, it requires things to be in order domestically.  A newer concept of a progressive movement would be one that reaches many points around the world as seeds of a new future.  In the new future, there could be less of an individual focus and more of a collective plan; a better interwoven society.  In the new society, a form of the American Dream will exist in that everyone can have a home, work and raise a family.  These basic rights will instill a sense of happiness and harmony in a more equally apportioned setting.

America has experienced a fading of the colors as the core family values are diminished and respect for a hard day's work has given way to a sense of entitlement (slow pace, long breaks, flaunting rank and social class).  As China has rapidly constructed a national machine of the core people, family, and a special dedication and respect for work, we see a great contrast.  It is very humbling to the U.S., but the U.S. is more in awe than making efforts to mimic the Chinese work and family ethic.  The distractions and disorder continue to keep our strengths fragmented and poorly distributed.  China has maintained their social beliefs and taken the best qualities of American life to create an advanced model.  This advanced model that is still being fine tuned in China is an ongoing effort that has potential of becoming the model of a world society that can and should be promoted.

As two great nations, we need to put more emphasis on the common qualities and enhance the overlap of dreams.  Things that are in contrast and stir contempt and aggression need to be identified in the highest leadership levels, and also the most important levels of the people seeing eye to eye.  We have to realize that those old 20th century persona and prejudices are not worth having around.   We are the new generation in a rapidly changing world and we do have choices and opportunities to give and take along the way; love each other - our dream.

Great work and deep compassion is required to build a beautiful world for all human beings.  We need to build exquisite beautiful homes for all people on this gem of a planet.  Build beautiful schools that teach the great philosophies of the human race along with space age science and technology.  No human should ever go to bed with an empty stomach.  Free and universal health and dental care should be an human right.  Everyone should be employed to cleanst the horrible carbon and toxic footprints that imperil us all.  True human harmony can be obtained by living in balance with the birds, bees, butterflies, flowers, trees and fauna.  Yes we have great tasks before us but our will and compassion is greater.  Let the sweet music of Mozart, Beethoven, Stevie Wonder and Michael Jackson fill our souls.  Let our hearts dance across the heavens on the toes of Alicia Alonzo.  Dear Sisters and Brothers of Africa, Asia, Latin America, Europe, North America, Oceania an exquisite paradise awaits us all if we stand as one.              Fama   USA
