Survey: Power of Internet

To date, no medium or communicative channel has matched the Internet for speed and coverage. The power of the Internet has been increasingly acknowledged by not only the general public, but the governments at various levels and different interest groups as well. As the fourth mass media, Internet has already been harnessed as an effective access to the public opinions and individual grievances by relevant authorities. E-government as a means ensuring the public political participation via Internet is quietly mushrooming at the moment.

However, the power of Internet could also be overestimated and, sometimes, abused.
