AN OPEN LETTER TO DALAI LAMA

Dear the holy Dalai Lama,

At Wednesday morning, 10thMarch 2010, you blasted the Chinese government that deliberately annihilateBuddhism in Tibet, a bigpublic lie which once again sparked anger and hatred among Han and Tibetanetcnic in Tibet.Surprisingly, you also try to spark anger and hatred among Han and Uighur etnicin Xinjiang, by reffering Xinjiang as “East Turkestan”.

Your remarks make our heart bleedonce again, tears start falling down for families who lost their beloved in thetragedy. This time, you spread it not only in Tibet, but also in Xinjiang wherehundreds people died.

How do you plan to recall theupcoming March 14 Tibetan riot, when many families won’t be able to hold theirtears in the upcoming 2 year ceremony to remember the death of their beloved inthe riot? Do you plan to spread an even bigger anger and hatred among people ?

FIRST, let’s open this simple fact…..

There was a small town of Lumbini, in what is now southern Nepal, whereprince Siddharta Gautama Buddha was born. As the next king, he has everythingin his life. But he leave all he have, to seek for answers why people aregetting old, sick and died. After achieving enlightenment, prince Siddharta realizethe reality of this universe, and decided to teach human being to learn Dharma.

Why the Buddha’s teaching from Nepal can be accepted by people from so manycountries around the world, including China ? Even today in the Westernworld ? Why even the most genius man on Earth, Albert Einstein said that “ifthere is any religion that could cope with modern scientific needs, it would beBuddhism”.

Because Buddha teach us so manygreat things to love all living things, not only human but also animals. Hereis two Buddha’s famous quotation : 1)Better than a thousand hollow words, isone word that brings peace. 2)Hatred does not cease by hatred, but only bylove; this is the eternal rule”.

Why Buddha can be accepted byTibetan people including YOU, even after so many centuries ? Why as a Tibetan spiritualleader, you can’t be accepted by so many countries, even by your own homeland ?

Just answer these 2 question : 1)Why as a Buddhism monk, you often spread anger and hatred whenever you speakand behave at any time and any places ? 2) What has you contributed to yourTibetan followers ??????

To better protect Buddhism, the Chinesegovernment has invested more than 700 million yuan for maintaining monasteriesin Tibet Autonomous Region since its reform and opening-up drive. In the pasteight years, the central and regional governments have invested more than 6billion yuan in ecological conservation and environmental protection in Tibet, while the other environmental protection program with total investment of 9.8billion yuan has been approved, announced by the Tibetan regional government onSunday.

Nine-year compulsory education has been widely implemented in Tibet. Localilliteracy rate has dropped from 98 percent 50 years ago to current 2.4percent. Local schools teach both Tibetan and mandarin.

From December 2006 to 2009, Tibet regional government launched a comprehensivesurvey on intangible cultural heritage and discovered 406 items of intangiblecultural heritages. The central government and regional government haveearmarked 24 million yuan on the protection of intangible cultural heritages.

SECOND, please come back to the basic ofBuddha teaching…..

As an innocent people who hasbeen killed in the March 14 riots, I won’t blame you and those Tibetan who haskilled me. As a Buddhism follower just like you, I take it as my own karma.Because what I have done in my past life, in this life I have a short life.

But my biggest worry is my littledaughter. She might be grow up with hatred and anger because of his father’sdeath.

As a Budhism monk, here I kneeldown to beg you to come back to the basic of Buddha teaching. Just like whatBuddha said that “Everyone is Bodhisatva”, no matter how wrong we are in thepast. Please spread peaceful words to mark the 51th anniversary of your exile, especiallyto families whose beloved has been killed. We don’t want our families to livein anger and hatred anymore. A simple condolences or a chanting ceremony forthe death just like you did in Taiwanwill be highly honoured.

If you have time, please send abook entitled “Liao-Fan’s Four Lesson” to all people living in Tibet (Tibetanpeople, Han, etc), including my daughter. This book which promote thecultivation of kindness and humility, is well-known among Buddhism followers.

Please spread this poem to clearthe anger and hatred which you have created for years among people :

Living in a gratefulworld

Be gratefulto those who have hurted or harmed you,
For they have reinforced your determination.

Be gratefulto those who have deceived you,
For they have deepened your sight.

Be gratefulto those who have hit you,
For they have reduced your karmic obstacles.

Be gratefulto those who have abandoned you,
For they have taught you to be independent.

Be gratefulto those who have made you stumble,
For they have strengthened your ability.

Be gratefulto those who have denounced you,
For they have increased your wisdom & concentration.

Be gratefulto those who have made you Firm & Resolute & Helped in yourAchievement.

From the teachings of Ven.Master Chin Kung

Just like Buddha teach us“although I am in sickness, let me pray others in healthy condition”. Although nowI have a soul without a body, I do hope in the future, no one has to diebecause of your problem with the Chinese authority.

Although I don’t put the blame onyou, but please consider my situation that I don’t want others to feel the same. The happiness in my family has been completely destroyed in one single day. Mybeloved parents lost a child, my beloved wife lost a husband, and my cutedaughter loss a father. As a child, I can’t take care my parents anymore. As ahusband, I put the whole responsibility to my wife to take care my family. As afather, I can’t take care my daughter anymore, whom I kissed every night beforeI go to sleep since she was a baby.

Can you imagine how I feel whenmy beloved parents, my beloved wife, and my cute daughter cries heavily at mytomb ? Together with my invisible tears, our tears form a river at my tomb………FROMYEARS TO YEARS during the Ching Ming festival.

Please learn just a little bitfrom our Goddes of Mercy, Guan Yin. As a princess, her father and her sisterstreated her badly, but she always forgive them. She even chopped her own handto rescue his father.

Please learn just a little bitfrom Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva, which vow “if hell is not empty, I vow not tobecome Buddha”. There’s no egoism, only sacrifice for others.

Please spread only kindness amongpeople from now on. As a Tibetan spiritual leader, please lead your Tibetanfollowers to spread only kindness in their society and learn more from theBuddhism practice. As a Buddhism monk, please lead Buddhism followers aroundthe world to spread only kindness in their society and learn a more from theBuddhism practice.

My blood and many others blood ismore than enough to pay your dispute with the Chinese authority. Please have amercy for others, especially for your Tibetan followers. Don’t make them livewith anger and hatred anymore. Please lead all of us to have a peaceful live.

Please have a mercy on us, theholy Dalai Lama.

May Buddha enlighten you,

The soul of March 14 riots’victim

Suggestions for People's Daily

Dear editor,

Here is several suggestion for People's Daily referring the Dalai Lama's remark :

1)  Publish the articles about the huge contribution from many Buddhist monks for the society. Such as the Venerable Master Chin Kung, Master Chen Yen (the leader of Tzu Chi networks around the world), Thich Nhat Hanh from Vietnam, Ajahn Brahm from Australia, etc. Contact China embassy in the related country, and ask them to collect information about their huge contribution. There's no egoism in their soul, just compassion and care.

2) Publish the articles about the real Buddha's teachings once a week at People's Daily newspaper. Buddha told us about karma, which mean what you plant is what you get. If you do bad deeds, you will get bad result. If you do good deeds, you will get a good result. Several monks will be happy to share Buddha's teaching for the society. Ajahn Brahm from Australia is well-known with his sense of humour when delivering Dharma, Thich Nhat Hanh from Vietnam is well-known with his deep illustration when delivering Dharma, Master Chen Yen is well-known with her kindness and simplicity when delivering Dharma, and the Venerable Chin Kung is well-known with his charisma when delivering Dharma. But all of them has the same things, they care a lot for all living things.

3) Find people who are willing to publicly ask Dalai Lama to come back to the real Buddha's teaching. Do it with mercy, good intention. Not to attack Dalai Lama, but to help him find back the truth. Maybe it will take years, but to enlighten a person life is the greatest thing that a human can do.

Thanks for your consideration....

Dear Cheung,

Sounds really a good idea. We'll very seriously consider creating some space to invite the real Buddhists and laymen of Buddhism at home and abroad to write something about the genuine Buddha teachings. In this way, Dalai's false reasoning will declare its bankruptcy.

Hatred does not cease by hatred, but only by love; this is the eternal rule

Dear editor,

One of Buddha’s quotation is "Hatred does not cease by hatred, but only by love ; this is the eternal rule".

Our central leaders has proved it. Even when the corrupt Chen Suibian keep mocking China, China keep offering help for Taiwan.  DOING GOOD THINGS IS NOT AN EASY TASK. Many people are suspicious with China's help, but China keep giving and giving, without any bad intention. Only times will prove China's good intention. These continuous efforts has win Taiwan's people heart. Chen's party lose in the election. Our central leaders not only has succeed to avoid wars, but both China and Taiwan has benefit from the cooperation to get out from the 2009 economic crisis. Yes, China has give a lot more, but China never show it to others. All in China's mind is that what else can we help ? HATRED DOES NOT CEASE BY HATRED, BUT ONLY BY LOVE. THIS IS THE ETERNAL RULE.

Both of us can learn a lot from the fact...............Now, please consider my point of view. Never mind if you don't agree....

As a Buddhism followers myself, personally I think that we should take a pity on Dalai Lama. He is the most famous monk on Earth, he can meet American president from time to time. But he waste his chance to do good deeds. He is so old now, but he can't see which is true and which is wrong. He can be blinded by his egoism, or he can be under pressure by someone else. Instead of trying to understand his problems, we keep fighting with him.

Our mission is not to attack Dalai Lama, which will spread more anger between his Tibetan followers and other Chinese etnics. WE WILL GO FOR NOWHERE AND END UP WITH MORE AND MORE CONFLICT.

Our mission should be trying our best to help Dalai Lama find the truth. Put the blame on his surroundings, not him. Give him a red carpet to come back to the genuine Buddha teachings. Offer him more and more love, although it's very difficult in practice when he keep offering more and more hatred. BUT THIS IS THE ETERNAL RULE.......

You don't have to agree with my point of view. I apologize if you are angry with this opinion. But please consider it.

My point is handle this Dalai Lama's case with love, not hatred.

Thanks for your consideration,

Cheung

Dear editor,

Please find your time to read an inspiring book from Ajahn Brahm entitled "Opening The Door of Your Heart". In America, the book entitled "Who Ordered This Truck Load of Dung". You can buy it on internet.

A delightful book full of tales of hope, love, forgiveness, freedom from fear, and overcoming pain which cleverly relates the timeless wisdom of the Buddha's teachings and the true path to happiness. In nearly 30 years as a Buddhist monk, born in the West but trained in the Thai forest tradition, Ajahn Brahm has gathered many poignant, funny and profound stories. In this collection of teaching stories are many true-to-life tales, which are used to launch a deeper exposition of mindfulness, wisdom, love and compassion.

Ajahn Brahm also relates wise teachings from his renowned and saint-like teacher, Ajahn Chah. His younger years in the Thai forest provided fertile ground for humour when , for instance, he had to eat boiled frog on rice for his only meal of the day. The stories that emerge are thoughtful, funny and enlightening. Told with wit and wisdom, these tales reveal the qualities of devotion, humility and diligence. They also expose moments of insight, wisdom and compassion in the lives of ordinary people.

This book will absolutely make anyone to see this life in a different manner, in a beautiful way. This book is one of the best gift for human kind from a Buddhist monk. Please read it to see it why. This book may enrich our vision.

Thanks,

Cheung

This is really a very good idea indeed. BUT, the problem is your understanding and knowledge of how china controls Buddhist teaching within China. The control is such that your idea will not come to fruition. Whether buddhist masters in China or the dalai Lama-both teach what lord buddha taught.

It might surprise you if I tell you the fact that there are over 80 million Han chinese inside China who secretly follow the teachings of the Dalai Lama.
will wait for your post.

TOP

I see so many hatred and anger between people.

Some put the blame on Dalai Lama
Some put the blame on Chinese government.

But who has the more people who support each side ?
Dalai Lama or the Chinese government ?
